Jammu, March 6 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Nalin Prabhat has asserted that a major steps have been taken to curb the misuse of police manpower, with extra personnel deployed to police stations where needed.
Speaking at Thana Diwas at Model Police Station Gandhinagar, Jammu, he revealed that he had personally reduced two-thirds of his security detail, emphasizing that reforms must start from within.
“Charity begins at home. I have started this on my own, and we will continue to optimize manpower deployment. Technology and infrastructure are evolving, and as the saying goes, ‘Rome was not built in a day,’” Prabhat said.

He also stressed the importance of incentivizing police personnel and acknowledged the need for a structured approach to improving their working conditions. “From day one, we have been working towards these goals, and we will continue strengthening the system,” he remarked.
