Kupwara May 25 (KNS): To boost quality healthcare in border district Kupwara,
10 new type Primary Health Centres( NTPHCs) and Health Wellness Centres -Sub centres (HHWC-SCS) health wellness centres have been nominated for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.
In a first, Government will start offering few facilities initially and subsequently all health facilities will be coverd in NQAS certification to provide and promote quality standards of care.
Health experts says that certification helps to instill confidence in the public on the services provided in government hospitals and the certification is given after verifying the quality in eight categories - service provision, patient rights, input, supportive services, clinical services, infection control, quality management and outcome.
The 10 nominated health centres are CHC Kupwara, PHC Trehgam, PHC Kandi, HWC Sschuloora, HWC Putshie, HWC Chandigam, HWC Gund Chogal, HWC Shahlal, HWC Kachloo, and HWC Manzar Kachama.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), CMO Kupwara, Dr Muhammad Ramzan calls the nomination a great development for the health sector of Kupwara.
" It is a great feeling for all the health staff, administration that our 10 health centres have been nominated for NQAS centres. Once the certification is done, more quality services will be available for our people."
After the process is done, several teams from district, UT and a national team will visit these centres to inspect the centres in order to grant the NQAS certification, he added.
The locals of Kupwara hailed the move of administration by nominating 10 health centers for NQAS certification, with a hope that people will be first foremost beneficiaries of the certification.(KNS)
