Srinagar, Feb 14: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) President Altaf Bukhari has strongly condemned the restrictions imposed on the observance of Shab-e-Baraat at Jama Masjid and the house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Terming these actions as deeply concerning, Bukhari said that such measures indicate curbs on religious freedom and lack any reasonable justification.
He stated that preventing worshippers from gathering at a this religious site on such a revered occasion not only hurts their sentiments but also raises serious questions about the authorities’ claims of restoring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Bukhari urged the administration to reconsider such restrictions and ensure that people are allowed to practice their religious duties without interference. He reiterated that the government must respect the religious rights of the people and avoid actions that create unnecessary distress among the masses. (KNS)
