Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and livestock following a cloudburst and lightning strike in the Arnas area of Reasi district.
In a statement issued, Bukhari said the recent spell of severe weather has caused widespread damage and tragedy across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to the Reasi incident, he said, “Sadly, severe weather conditions have caused significant damage and tragedy across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the past few days.
Last evening, a cloudburst followed by an intense lightning strike hit the Arnas area of Reasi district, resulting in the on-spot death of two individuals, including a woman, as well as around 40 sheep and goats.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
Bukhari extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with all those affected by the devastating incident.
He also urged the administration to provide immediate assistance and compensation to the families who lost their loved ones and livestock in the tragedy.
The Apni Party President stressed the need for effective disaster preparedness and early warning systems, especially in weather-sensitive regions like Reasi, to minimize future loss of life and property. (KNS)
