Srinagar May 06 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir People's Party Chief Sheeban Ashai today visited Aali Kadal fire victims; empathized with the bereaved family. A massive fire broke out in Aali Kadal area of Srinagar today; due to a gas cylinder blast, as per locals.
Explosion caused damaged to a three story house and lead to unfortunate death of a 58 year old woman. Ashai expressed solidarity with the bereaved, prayed to Almighty for giving strength to the grief stricken family. He said, "We convey our heartfelt condolences with the fire affected family and stand formidably with them in this hour of grief ".

We thank Almighty that with help of locals and expedient intervention of fire tenders; flames were doused in time and a big catastrophe was prevented. Ashai added that most houses in Old Srinagar localities have substantial wood work and hence entire localities becomes vulnerable in case of a fire incident. He impressed upon administration to reinvigorate infrastructure in Downtown Srinagar, ensure basic fire safety framework in densely populated localities.(KNS)
