Anantnag, Mar 21 (KNS): Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo, along with MLAs Altaf Ahmad Kuloo, Abdul Majid Larmi, and Peerzada Saeed, visited the fire-affected families in Kadipora, Anantnag, expressing deep sorrow over their suffering, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking on the occasion, Itoo assured the victims that the government stands firmly with them in their time of distress. She mentioned that the Chief Minister had directed the district administration to take immediate measures for their relief, including accommodation, food, and water arrangements.
"It is heartbreaking that these families have lost their homes, but we are thankful that no lives were lost. The financial loss is immense, and we understand their pain," she said.
Itoo emphasized that the government is actively working on providing relief funds. "Relief checks are being prepared, and the Chief Minister has assured financial assistance to help them rebuild their homes," she added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The minister acknowledged the longstanding issue of congestion in the area and stated that efforts would be made to address the residents' demand for land. She, along with her colleagues and district officers, would discuss the best possible solutions for rehabilitation.
She also confirmed that a team, including the Tehsildar and other officials, will monitor the rehabilitation process under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner.
"The entire government is with these affected families, and we will ensure their proper rehabilitation," Itoo assured.
The fire incident has left many families homeless, and they have urged the authorities for immediate assistance and relocation support. The district administration has been directed to take necessary steps to facilitate their rehabilitation. (KNS)
