New Delhi, Apr 7 (KNS):The Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, conducted an extensive visit to Azadpur Mandi, Delhi, on April 7, 2025, to review trade practices and strengthen market linkages for J&K horticulture produce.

During his visit, Zargar interacted with buyers, commission agents, and other key stakeholders of the mandi. He discussed crucial issues such as transportation, promotion of transparent trade practices, and the need to boost online trading through the e-NAM portal with growers and traders from Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, the Director chaired a detailed marathon meeting with representatives of the Kashmir Apple Merchants Association (KAMA) and other stakeholders.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe emphasized the importance of organizing regular buyer-seller meets to foster strong connections between local growers and outside buyers, thereby enhancing marketing opportunities for J&K produce.

Zargar also visited the office of the Deputy Director Horticulture at Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. He reviewed the functioning of the Kisan Ghar and inspected the ongoing developmental works of the extension block.

The visit aimed to strengthen the marketing infrastructure and ensure better returns for fruit growers of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
