Dr Mushtaq Rather Among 11 Doctors Invited to President’s ‘At Home Reception’ on Republic Day

Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS):  Dr. Mushtaq Rather, former Director of Health Services Kashmir, was among 11 distinguished doctors from across India invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the prestigious ‘At Home Reception’ on January 26. The event, hosted by the President of India, serves as a platform to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their respective fields.  


Dr. Rather’s invitation is a testament to his remarkable contributions to the healthcare sector, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. During his tenure as Director of Health Services Kashmir, he played a pivotal role in strengthening public health infrastructure, enhancing emergency medical services, and spearheading initiatives to improve healthcare accessibility in remote areas. His leadership was particularly instrumental in managing the COVID-19 crisis in the region, ensuring efficient vaccination drives, and bolstering hospital preparedness during the pandemic.  

One of Dr. Rather’s most innovative initiatives—the **Pony Ambulance Service** during the annual **Amarnath Yatra**—was widely appreciated.
