Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): The National Conference has no plans for a Omar Abdullah led cabinet reshuffle or expansion as of now.
A senior party leader told KNS on condition of anonymity that it would be premature to consider a cabinet expansion or reshuffle at this stage.
“It has only been a year since the present cabinet took charge. The government is focusing on providing maximum relief to the people after years of administrative irregularities and bureaucratic hurdles that followed the revocation of J&K’s special status,” the leader said.
He added that the cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to fulfilling the promises made to the people.
“Our party president will take a call on cabinet expansion or reshuffle whenever he feels it is in the best interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Putting speculations to rest, another NC leader also said that during the party’s working committee meeting, all leaders unanimously decided to leave the decision on cabinet expansion or reshuffle to party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
“He can make the decision whenever he deems it appropriate for the interests of the party and the people of Jammu and Kashmir. At present, the party leadership’s priority is the restoration of statehood and addressing public issues promised in the election manifesto,” he added.
CM Omar Abdullah told reporters after working Committe meeting that the matter would be discussed with NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and any final decision would be made based on his guidance. (KNS)
