Srinagar May 23 (KNS): The Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra on Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir government informed G20 delegates that in the last two your years more than 400 films, TV serials & advertisements have been shot in the Union Territory.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar, he said that most of the people have seen the beauty of Kashmir either through films or other media because for many years it was almost impossible to come to Kashmir, but those things have changed now.
He said that in the past two years more than 400 films, TV serials & advertisement have been permitted for shooting in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Films play a great role in exposing the beauty of any place, for example Switzerland, it is because of the films that popularised this place. We all aspire to come to Kashmir and films will help further to attract the visitors to Kashmir,” he said.
He added that last year the Jammu Kashmir recorded historical footfall of tourists, which indicates the transformation of the place.
“This year we are expecting 2 crore visitors in J&K and this will have a positive impact on the economy of Jammu Kashmir,” he said. (KNS)
