Srinagar, Mar 3 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) Chief and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has criticized the government over the recent Governor’s address, stating that it bears no distinction from what a BJP-led government speech would have been.
In a post on X, he remarked, “The Governor’s address is indistinguishable from a possible BJP speech, had they been in power. There seems to be total ideological overlap. No mention, not even remotely, of Article 370, Article 35A. No mention of August 5, 2019. No mention of the Reorganisation Act. It seems the NC government has finally done away even with ornamentalism. They don’t even want to pretend they have anything to do with Article 370.”
Reflecting on the election campaign, he added, “I remember how during the election campaign it was all about Article 370 and how all others are BJP.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAnd now, the ideological overlap. What a comedown.”
Expressing disappointment over the address lacking any concrete vision, he further stated, “If this address was a vision statement of the government, it is as visionless as it can get. It is a generalised departmental statement without any new political, social, or economic initiative. So be prepared for an aimless, visionless spell of governance, bereft of any newness in approach or any creativity.”
The JKPC leader also alleged that the government would function in a bureaucrat-driven manner, similar to the previous administration. “The bureaucrats ran the last administration. The bureaucrats will run this administration. The political contribution to governance is all set to be non-existent.” (KNS)
