Those Who Stayed Silent Helped BJP, They Must Answer to God: CM Omar on Sajad Lone

Srinagar Oct 27 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that certain leaders, including Sajad Lone, indirectly helped the BJP during the Rajya Sabha elections by staying silent or abstaining from voting. He said the people of Andhwara did not elect representatives to remain inactive or to divide their loyalty.

Abdullah said the BJP was not ready to take part in the elections. He questioned the compulsion of some leaders to support the BJP and said that if they truly wanted to prevent match-fixing, they should have voted. He said the day the election was announced, he had stated that those who did not participate were effectively helping the BJP.

He said some newspapers had announced the results in advance, creating a perception of a predetermined outcome. Abdullah said his team fought in the election despite these conditions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe noted that an independent MLA admitted to a voting mistake but claimed that three others deliberately destroyed their votes by giving the second preference instead of the first. He said four votes ultimately went in favor of the BJP on the last seat.

According to KNS, CM said the four leaders who made a deal of their faith must answer to God. He said the rest of the process did not have irregularities, but questioned the basis on which the BJP lured votes and said only the party could explain it.

He said the election results were influenced by actions of those who did not participate properly, and the voters of Andhwara deserved to know where their representatives stood. Abdullah said transparency in voting was necessary to maintain accountability and that leaders who compromised their votes must clarify their position.(KNS)
