Dozens women join Apni Party in Jammu

JAMMU, JANUARY 19 (KNS): Apni Party Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that the party is committed for the social, political and economic empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a meeting cum joining programme at the Apni Party Office in Jammu’s Gandhi Nagar, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the women are the important segment in the society and their role cannot be ignored.

 

Over a dozen women joined the Apni Party in a meeting which was organised by Simran Kour, women leader.

 

Welcoming the new entrants into the party, he said that with the joining of people in large numbers from every section of the society, it seems that the party’s policy and agenda have reached the people at the grass root level.

He said that the Apni Party is committed to the empowerment of women.

“We want to empower women socially, politically, economically and weaker sections so that they can get their due share in the society and upgrade their living standard,” he added.

Referring to the welfare schemes of Apni Party, he said that the Apni Party will ensure equitable development of all the regions, enhancement of widow pension scheme up to Rs 5000, will give 4 cooking gas cylinders to each family under Ujjawala, will provide free of cost 500 units of electricity during summers in Jammu and during winters, 300 units of free electricity will be provided in Jammu.

 

Similarly, he said that the people in Kashmir will get 500 units of free electricity in Kashmir during winters and 300 units during summers. He also highlighted various other policies of the party and asked them to become ambassadors of the party to spread the message of peace and development among the people.
