Srinagar, Aug 08 (KNS): National Conference (on Tuesday welcomed remarks made by Chief Justice of Indi DY Chandrachud about its founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, saying those who tried to tarnish the image of such a towering leader must have learnt a lesson from it.
"CJI's statement on Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah is a welcome step. We think BJP and its affiliated parties must have learnt a lesson from it," NC spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar told KNS.
He said Sheikh Abdullah was a towering leader of the sub-continent.
Dar said CJI's statement was a befitting reply to those who tried to tarnish the image of Sheikh Abdullah and tried to snatch his name from J&K medals, institutions and undoing holidays.
"The time has come that such decisions should be revisited," he said.
He said a separate chapter in the academics should be introduced in schools so that students will come to know about towering personality of Sheikh Abdullah. (KNS)
