Bandipora November 07 (KNS): Literary Forum Bandipora and Cofee and Kalaam jointly organised a grand literary function at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora to release the poetic Collection of poet GN Zahid.
Senior Poet Shahbaaz Hakbari was the chief guest on the occasion while Abdul Khaliq Shamas, Mir Dachigami, Mohammad Rafiq parray were the guests of honor. Patron Literary Forum Bandipora Mubashir Saleem Nazki, President Municipal Council Bandipora Basharat Hussain, President Cofee and Kalaam Aqeel Mohiudin, Dr Adil Mohiudin and other senior writers and scholars were also present on the occasion while Shafqat Irshad conducted the proceedings.
On the occasion Mansoor Muntazir and Basharat Fakir presented their book review while several speakers including Mir Tariq, Dr Adil Mohiudin, M Ramzan, Gul Tanveer and Basharat Hussain also spoke on the occasion and presented their views with regard to the book. A Mehfil-e-Mushaira was also conducted on the occasion that was attended by several poets. They presented their latest poetry and paid tribute to the author of the book.

Speakers said GN Zahid has written about the major contemporary issues of the times that has affected the lives of the people and preserved those moments in his poetry. The poetic collection is traditional artistic expression exploring the social, political and emotional situations erupted during the contemporary times. The poet has also artistically paid tribute to poetic Stalwarts like Rashid Nazki, Journalist Shujaat Bukhari and academicians like Prof Manzoor Fazli. The poet has explored the devastation of 2014 floods in a poetic art besides expressing the solidarity with Labourers killed.
Meanwhile the participants were glad to know the joint collaboration of LFB and Coffee and Kalam in releasing the book and predicted it as a good sign. They said though LFB is the forum of senior poets and scholars and Coffee and Kalam is the forum of young writers, the joint efforts of seniors and young generation reveal that the future of literature and linguistic movement is in safe hands. “Both seniors and juniors will be benefitted from each others expertise and this association will go a long way to imbibe in younger generation the taste for literature”(KNS)
